Title
[D8805ACY1], Letter from Henry Buck Auchincloss to Alfred Ord Tate, May 17th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"The work referred to in my 25th Apl. Quoted in yr favor 16th was done on the trench between [the Valley Road & Glen Ave.. It is true that this trench was dug] through my property but also true that it is the only part of the installation in which Mr. [Edison&r Mr. Burke & myself are concerned together. ### You are wholly under a misapprehension in this matter. I put my private ground in order several months prior to doing the above work, and would nor more think of asking my neighbors to share the expense than I would ask them to help me wire my house."
