- [D8805ACY1], Letter from Henry Buck Auchincloss to Alfred Ord Tate, May 17th, 1888
- Editor's Notes
- "The work referred to in my 25th Apl. Quoted in yr favor 16th was done on the trench between [the Valley Road & Glen Ave.. It is true that this trench was dug] through my property but also true that it is the only part of the installation in which Mr. [Edison&r Mr. Burke & myself are concerned together. ### You are wholly under a misapprehension in this matter. I put my private ground in order several months prior to doing the above work, and would nor more think of asking my neighbors to share the expense than I would ask them to help me wire my house."
