"My business interests call me West. I expect to leave with my family tomorrow. I would have called + personally explained had I not been both unwell & pressed for time. ### All of my Furniture etc will be sold at auction on Saturday next (there are some handsome articles nearly new for those who would buy): originally invoice nearly 3500 they ought to bring something based [unclear] have directed my friend + atty Mr. Phelemon Woodruff ([Geneva St?] East Orange to pay over to you such an amount as there may be remaining after advances + expenses are paid as will enable me to provide for that note which is due (I think) with Grace on either Oct. 2nd or 3rd. ### Requesting that this may be considered confidential I am dear Sir with sincere thanks."
