"I instructed my Atty + friend Mr. Phil Woodruff to turn over to you the proceeds of a sale so that you could take up note of $500.00 due on 2nd or 3rd Oct. ### Last night another friend to whom I am indebted was wiped out by fire + a considerable losses= This aint your funeral'= But if you are flush, I'd [unclear] like to have you personally extend push as all of any obligations to you let us help the other fellow. ### This is a matter [unclear] impractical view to take (as far as you are concerned) but I have known of you doing equally generous things. ### My affairs an looking a #1 + which temporarily hard up, my prospects for big returns were never so good. I was given an order for 100 [unclear] Saturday + have just go model for a sample of 2000 [unclear]" Wm.F. Brewster
