- Title
- [D8812AAJ], Letter from New York Press Club to Thomas Alva Edison, February 8th, 1888
- Editor's Notes
- Will you kindly oblige the Board of Trustees by sending them your residence or office address for use in a new edition of the Press Club Directory. You will see the importance of complying with this request at as early a date as possible, as there has been no revision of the Club Directory since 1883, and within the past five years more than one hundred new members have been added to the roll. There are thirty members who give the 'Club' for their address, which gives an unsettled inference. Signed W. G. McLaughlin. [Begins second document entitled "A Word from the Dinner Committee"] Members desiring tickets, especially those having invited guests, should apply before the table diagram is completed. When the sittings have been satisfactorily arranged, your Committee can guarentee an enjoyable affair, one that will be first-class in every respect. Inasmuch as this will be the first absolutely Journalistic banquet ever given in this country, Thursday, February 16th, 1888 will be a day of which we shall always have reason to be proud. [New name mention: W. G. McLaughlin.]
