[D8812AAY], Letter from Boston Electric Club, R F Ross to Thomas Alva Edison, June 12th, 1888
Editor's Notes
[includes marginalia: Gilliland tell them I am so tied down here I can't leave a moment] In addition to the invitation already forwarded you, to be present at the celebration of the first anniversary of the Boston Electric Club, June 21, 1888, I desire as secretary of that organization, to express personally my own earnest request, coupled with that of your friends in this vicinity, that you will give us the pleasure of a favorable response. Be your visit long or short, it will be a source of extreme gratification to us. Your presence in connection with the exhibition of your wonderful invention, the phonograph, will add importance to the occasion, and be productive [includes handwriten connection, somewhat illegible] of much pleasure and benefit to our club.
