- Editor's Notes
- New name mentions: Spiral Weld Tube Works, and James F. Lewis. in receipt of your reply Dec 5 to my letter Dec 1, will lay it before the Executive Committee of Arrangements for our NY meeting at its next meeting. Your offer is accepted with thanks. # There is plenty of time for the perfecting of detailed arrangements. All that we needed thus [sic.] early was the material for blocking out the general plan of the meeting. # The 'Edison Day' will probably include nothing outside of your place, except a brief visit to the Spiral Weld Tube Works; and that will probably be put first, so that we can reach your Lab at the time appointed, with the rest of the day before us. # Rothwell (Editor of the Engineering and Mining Journal) will have charge of the arrangements for papers and discussions at the session, and will communicate with you re probable length of your paper, its place in the order of exercises, etc. # Lewis (Rand Drill Co., 23 Park Place) will have charge of the department of Excursions, connected with the meeting; and you will hear from him also. # Your name has been proposed for membership in the Institute; you will be unanimously recommended by the Council and elected by the Institute.
