- Title
- [D8814AAW], Letter from F B McChesney to Thomas Alva Edison, February 7th, 1888
- Editor's Notes
- I was an employee of the Edison Machine Works in this city, but was layed off sometime ago and am out of work and don't care to go back in the shops here on account of a slight difference between me and one of the "bosses." I worked here in the Tube Dept and also on the road. I thoroughly understand cutting tubes and consider myself as good a jointer as the company have. I find the work first rate and would like to continue at it provided you will give me a job in your lab in Orange, NJ. Will you please consider this letter and give me a reply stating wages etc, hoping to receive an early and favorable answer.
