- [difficult to read; seemingly regarding possible employment for brother of Jos. Swan] Writing on behalf of an Englishman, Mr. Alfred, an associate of Joseph Swan…..His sitser, Mrs. Mawson, of Newcastle, England, writes to my brother in great distress regarding Mr. Swan, [some illegible bit about an invention he is supposed to have control of.]] "If this is news to you, & you would like to see Mr. Swan, I will hunt him up, though I think E. orange is still his address. TAE marg: "Write Garrison that I just this moment came across his letter. Say I am oversupplied with men just now or I could do something also that his brothe rin Elgnad is connected with several electrical enterprises controls a Lamp factory & is worth a clean million of dollars.
