Title
[D8814AEP], Letter from Arthur L Johnson to Thomas Alva Edison, October 12th, 1888
Editor's Notes
Replying to your kind favor of October 9th. Of course one must know what position he is to fill and what is to be required of him before making a stipulation as to price -- The line of work which I am best fitted to do is strictly chemical. A position requiring skilled, investigations in this line is worth $1000-$1200 for the first year, and that is about what I should expect. I shall be glad to furnish you references if you require them. Regretting that my ambiguity caused an extra letter and awaiting your advice I remain. [written on letter: give me correspondence in this case]
