Title
[D8818ANX], Letter from Charles Batchelor to Edison United Manufacturing Co, June 28th, 1888
Editor's Notes
Auchincloss' house has had a bug on one of their wires for some time. He had nine lights on the (old house) circuit which burned some times at a dull red and at other times went out entirely. He complained that this had been so for some time. I sent one of our men who tested out the lines and found the fault is somewhere behind the casing on that circuit. It is possibly a bad connection in the wire. It is a dangerous point and should be looked after. The house at present is shut up and will not be opened for two months. Previous to its being opened, one of the men who wired this place should be sent out to fix it. We ought to know before hand when he is coming, so that we could arrange with Auchincloss's man to be able to light up there, in order that he can see where the trouble is. Do not send him until you have given us plenty of notification.
