- Editor's Notes
- Your letter to Manning, Maxwell and Moore of Jul. 2d has been referred to us. What we want with the precision lathes is a countershaft that will go up on the ceiling. We have no need and cannot use an intermediate countershaft, and we shall run direct from our main line shaft. Can you not supply this with our lathes. We should prefer the shipper to run by hand, as is usually done with any ordinary lathe. Be kind enough to give us the speed of counter and the dimensions of the pulleys of those countershafts. This was partially done with M. M. & M., but they omitted the diameter. If you will give us this by return mail you will much oblige.
