- Editor's Notes
- Received your postal card. Tried gravity batteries on the Phonoplex connected up in almost every conceivable way, was never able to make them work satisfactorily. Made a number of tests of this kind in your operating room in Baltimore. It was on the long circuit to Hagersville over the railway wires, which made the test rather a severe one. They used to use gravity batteries on the short circuits in NYC over the B & O wires. I think where there are very few intermediate offices gravity batteries could be employed, but it is not very often that we strike a circuit offering such favorable conditions. TAE has not had time to make any tests on Phonoplex as yet, but hope before long he will be able to give some attention to it.
