Title

[D8828ABU], Letter from Henry W Spang to Thomas Alva Edison, June 4th, 1888

Editor's Notes

"I requested Mr. E. J. Gilliland to ascertain if you are willing to take hold of a good established arc light system. ### I can secure control of the Ball Electric Light system for a reasonable sum. ### I also control the Easton patents on dynamos and arc lamps for the U.S. and can also secure the employment of Messrs. R.E. Ball and J.W. Easton, whose experience in arc lighting during the past 5 years has been very satisfactory. ### The Ball and Easton arc lights are quite as steady and satisfactory as the Thomsen-Houston arc lights. ### I enlose a card giving a list of arc dynamos made by the by Ball Co. It is the only Co. making the 4 ampere current arc light (over 3 per H.V.) ### I also enclose a slip of the Reliance or Easton dynamo and arc lamp as now made in Canada by the Reliance Electric [unclear] Co. of Waterford Ontario." Yours respectfully, H.W. Spang Electrical Review 13 Park Row N.Y. [Marginalia: "He should see E.H. Johnson. I cannot go into lighting. E." "Ans 6/6/88"]
