Title
[D8835ADK], Letter from Samuel Insull to Charles Batchelor, July 17th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"We have your favor of the 14th inst. ### We did not make any special Tools for the large Commutator for the Multi-polar Machine. We used our regular tools. Of course we cannot send these down to you as we are liable to want them at any moment. Why not send the Commutator up here and let us make the changes. ### By-the-bye, Mr. Edison told me some time ago that he was going to make some changes in the patterns for the Multi-polar machine, and would want a fresh set of castings. The altered patterns have not, so far, come to hand. ### With relation to the Yard-arm for lifting coal from the cars into our coal bunkers, we make all this class of apparatus ourselves. If the Phonograph Works want such a thing we can make it for them here." [Marginalia: "Ordered from"] Yours very truly, Sam Insull
