Title
[D8835AEN], Letter from William Edgar Gilmore to John F Randolph, September 29th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"I duly received your letter of the 25th but am very much surprised at the contents. I do not at all remember the [unclear] to which you refer. Can you give me any further information about them. I have always refunded all monies borrowed from Mr. Insull direct, but this took place so long ago that I have not now the first idea as to the circumstances. As to the shortage of $1.40 on petty cash, this is also news to me, as I do not remember handling petty cash at Wall Street. I dislike to trouble you about these matters, but you can readily see that I am compelled to considering the transactions took place so long ago. ### I presume you are still as busy as ever. We are very much so here. Mr Insull is very seldom here being in New York nine-tenths of the time--Ernest has fallen in "Love", and is consequently (this is only supposition on my part) happy. ### have not heard whether Tate is a "Papa" yet? How is it?" Yours very truly, W. E. Gilmore
