- "I have your letter of the 1st, and accepthte explanation you make--I regret extremely that this debit balance has run along so long, but I can assure you that I did not have any idea of there being anything against me from Wall Street. ### I enclose herewith $16-- in money and $.40 in stamps to balance--I trust I have not inconvenienced you by writing about the matter, but under the circumstances, I wanted to see what it was. I spoke to Mr. Insull, but he, like myself, does not remember the circumstances with relation to same. I have considred this way of settling the best. ### Trusting this will be satisfactory I remain"
