Title

[D8836AAP], Letter from William Henry Meadowcroft to Alfred Ord Tate, May 23rd, 1888

Editor's Notes

"I have just returned from Boston, where I went to make arrangements with Perry, Mason + Co, who own the "Youth Companion' as to taking hold of our small lamp business in their Premium and Sales Department. This paper has an actual circulation of over 405,000 per week and does an enormous sales business. I have been working on the matter for a long time and have made such arrangement with them that they will probably be large buyers after next fall. ### There are three gentlemen there whom I want to show some attention and I told them that I would later them to all Edison's Laboratory some day +. I suppose this will be all right and allowable. These people can do is lots of good in many ways + and the men I propose to bring are the head men of the concern. They were charmed when I offered this visit to them. ### Now, if you have any photographs of Mr. Edison, and would send me three of them with his authograph for these gentlemen, they would feel complimented and honored, and it would do Mr. Edison and his interests a great deal of practical good. ### If this is within the bounds of possibility I trust you will see fit to comply with these suggestions. I should not trouble you if I did not think it was for a good object. ### An early reply will be appreciated." Yours very truly, Wm. Meadowcroft "Please address me 'Personal' in this matter."
