Title

[D8837AAB], Letter from Frank P Kitchell to Thomas Alva Edison, February 16th, 1888

Editor's Notes

"We are this day in receipt of a letter from your laboratory over the signature of C.V.S. stating that, [in regard to the work in Mr. Auchincloss' house,] the writer thought that where Underwriters wire in the house, mentioned above, tested out good, that it might remain, but that in every other place, only the best material was to be used. Our Supt. Mr. Augustus Noll, is unwillingn to proceed with the work in this way, and desires me to ask that you give him a direct and positive order concernign the points above mentioned. He means by this that he would prefer the order should read, not "That it is thought the Underwriters wire might be left as found where tests are good," but rather that they shall be left as placed. Kinly let us hear from you promptly in regard to the matter, and oblige" Very truly yours, etc. Frank P. Kitchell [Marginalia: "Seubel Did you write it and what does he want? CB" "Batchelor What about this Edison"]
