[D8839ABY], Letter from Barr (M.D.) & Co to William Hope Dean, September 28th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"Your letter of the 27th received- I note what you say regarding the Arc Light Co.- I have not from the first had any confidence that they would take hold of this matter with any intention of putting it through. ### The only way that we can get started in Toronto is to start a company independent of all other Companies if this cannot be done, we had better drop the business for the other probably will not [unclear] hold numbers they are forced to do so by competition. ### If an Independent Company is formed + [unclear] see that we mean business either the arec light or far light co. may come forward + offer to [unclear] the matter off [unclear] but as long as this dilly dally cash with the matter + they can hold us [unclear] of the filed they will do so. ### You will notice by enclosed circular letter that any contract you made with Mr. Lawson is void. I am however willing to review that contract with you subject to a [unclear] in time, say 1st of January." Yours respectfully, M.D. Barr + Co.
