Title
[D8839ACI], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Allgemeine Elektricitats Gesellschaft, October 23rd, 1888
Editor's Notes
"I am informed that your Company are quoting prices upon Incandescent Lamps for sale in Japan. I consider your doing this a [inserted: as somewhat discourteous] direct infringement of my rights, as Japan is one of the countries reserved to me, and a country in which you have absolutely no right to enter in competition with sales made through my authorized Agent. ### I desire that you countermand any quotations made, and explain why you should enter Territory not belonging to you." Yours truly, [Francis R. Upton struck out] T.A.E. [Marginalia: "Tate fix."]
