Title
[D8845ACX], Letter from Osgood S Wiley to Thomas Alva Edison, August 22nd, 1888
Editor's Notes
"My brother is very anxious to see you relative to the ore business in Europe. He has made a very successful issue there and all they want is the machine. I have through friends of mine arranged for a machine at the "Tuley Foster" mine at Brewsters N.Y. my wife has been and is now rapidly on the decline and I have compelled to devote all my attention towards placing her in some mountain resort. I shall be back again next week and I am sure if you will give me an opportunity I can put this ore matter to the front immediately. My brothers position in Engineering circles and my fathers position as a scientific publisher has thrown me in with the class of men who would take an interest in this machien. I have not given the attention to the matter I could have done as I understood you wanted the matter to rest until you saw your Uncle who is on the same matter. So sanguine I am regardign the success of it I am willing to put in money to push it. I found my room upset and the plating apparatus removed so I await your return for further instructions. Everything at the Laboratory seems to be moving on all right. I should like to assist in further experimetns on this ore machine and become thoroughly familiar with its details if you so approve." Yours very truly, O.S. Wiley "My borther has made a very good arrangment with the Swedish Govt provided it meets your idea as which will be a good advertisement for the Machine. He would like to see you next week."
