Editor's Notes

"In reply to your letter of the 13th inst we would say that Canadian patent no. 24084 of May 18, 1886 relates to the present phonoplex system of telegraphy. You can complly with section 28 of the Canadian patent and by having one in two sets of instruments made in Montreal. You had better have the party making them, after he commences to do so, notfiy you by letter had he has convinced the main [unclear] and he must afterward held himself in readiness to fill orders if he should get any. ### If you do not want to do this, you can probably get an extension of the line to manufacture, for six months or [unclear] if you make immediate application for it. If you want to make such an application, you had better let us know at once, and mention such reasons as occur to you why you cannot convince the manufacture now."
