- [D8847AAS], Letter from Joseph Ignatius Constantine Clarke to Thomas Alva Edison, June 1st, 1888
- Editor's Notes
- "When you send the phonograph (and I hope it will be soon) will you please have it taken to my house at 148 East 45th St. and if the young man who is to come with it will make his visit at 11 or 12 in the morning I can take a lesson in resuming it. He could write in advance to say he was coming. I suppose you saw the article in the Journal if you would like some copies of it please let me know." Yours faithfully, J.I.C. Clarke "P.S. I suppose you forgot a certain photograph. That, however, wil hold for another time." [Marginalia: "Write Clarke tell him that I want to wait + give him a new machine, there is no comparison between new machine + those he has seen."]
