- Editor's Notes
- "I have been in hopes of leaving here for several days past but am having considerable difficulty in floating the Illinois and Indiana Phonograph Company stock. Will you kindly let me know when you wil expect me to start for China and if everythign is likely to be in readiness by the 10th of January. If the contract is ready I would be glad if you would cause it to be sent here in order that I may look over the same. I find that Chicago capitalists are remarkably slow and it is due to some extent by the reason of the fact that a Philadelphia syndicte has squeezed them very hard in manipulating street railroad stocks. I assure you I am using all possible speed in putting through the company here and trust to be East at an early day." Yours very truly, F.Z. Maguire
