Title
[D8848AAW], Letter from Josiah Custer Reiff to Thomas Alva Edison, April 3rd, 1888
Editor's Notes
My dear Edison The unfortunate Phonograph matter [is?] up again-- It is considered advisable to have a meeting of the stockholders of the old Co, to confirm Johnson's account as treason, as I understand Cheever is inclined to be ugly in [true or truce?] way. The only other question is that of winding up the affairs of the old Co. All the stock should be there. If you will send me your proxy it shall be voted only to confirm Johnson's acct and on question of liquidating the Co. and not involve you at this time in any other question. Yours truly J.C. Reiff [Marginalia: "Say to JCR that I don't want to mix in it--that I have had enough of U. H. Painter & his methods-- E."]
