Editor's Notes
"The First Anniversary of the Boston Electric Club will be celebrated THURSDAY JUNE 21ST, 1888, to which a few guests are invited, one of whom is yourself. ### A Reception will be held at the Club Rooms, from 1 to 4:30 P.M. and will include addresses and an exhibition of THE EDISON IMPROVED PHONOGRAPH. The well known electrician, Mr. E.T. Gilliland, will explain its operation, and Mr. Thos. A. Edison is also expected to be present. ### At the conclusion of the Reception Ceremonies guests and members will be conveyed to the Hingham Steamboat Company's wharf, where a steamer will be taken for Nantasket Beach. Dinner will be served there at the Rockland House promptly at 6:30 p.m. At 9:30 p.m. special cars, via the Old Colony Railroad, will convey the guests and members back to Boston. It is imperatively necessary that the Secretary receive early notice of your acceptance to be present, as arrangements will be made only for those who respond." RF Ross
