Title
[D8849ABB], Letter from Franck Zeveley Maguire to Alfred Ord Tate, August 17th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"I received your telegram yesterday and regret to hear that Mr. Edison is detained for such a length of time. Could I not hear from Mr. Edison in the meantime as to what proposition he desires to make for China and Japan. It will take some time to get matters in shape, in connection with my business in order that I may make a trip to China. I feel sure that I can handle this matter to his entire satisfaction. I am already personally acquainted with the Consul General of Japan and he is very much interested in the Phonograph. I will also secure when necessary letters from the President of the United State and the Secty. of the State giving me proper introduction to the officials of China and Japan." Yours very truly, F.Z. Maguire
