- Editor's Notes
- "I sent you last night my first draft of letter to Gouraud re patent matters. I send you now the final draft wherein instead of referring to his "contract" with you I refer to his "proposed contract." ### Gouraud's agreements have not been executed and are yet subject to such change as you see fit to make in them. I did not think it politic to say that in the letter to him--he will infer enough from the manner in which his agreement is referred to. ### I think this correspondence should be followed up and Gouraud should be given to understand that you are the master and your instructions must be respected. ### He thinks to deafen you with the noise of his London slideshows while he keeps quietly at work securing his own territory in an unscrupulous and thoroughly selfish manner. ### His policy is not to reply to such letters as the one I am sending now--we never received even an asknowledgement of the other letter we sent him about his methods of advertising you in circus style--they have the effect only of cuasing him to conceal what he is doing. He wishes to avoid open discussion. This should not be permitted." [unclear] AO Tate
