Editor's Notes

"We the London Stereoscopic and Photographic Company Limited of 54 Cheapside in the City of London hereby give Notice of our intention to oppose the Grant of Letters Patent upon application No. 17175 of 1887, applied for by George Edward Gouraud upon the ground that the invention sought to be claimed thereby has been patented in this country on an application of prior date, viz: the Patent of James Yate Johnson No 6027 of 1886 for 'Improvements in an apparatus for recording and reproducing speech and other sounds.' ### The Common Seal of the London Stereoscopic and Photographic Company was herewith affixed this 18th day of December 1886 by and in the prescence of ### M.J. Kennard ### Charles S. Nottage Directors ### Countersigned, Saml M' Clark Secretary. ### To the Comptroller, Patent Office, 25 Southampton Buildings, Chancery Lane, London, W.C. ### Neish and Howell of, and whose address for service is, 66 Watling Street E.C. Solicitors for the said Company."
