- Title
- [D8854AAE], Letter from George Francis Hammond to Thomas Alva Edison, February 28th, 1888
- Editor's Notes
- "We have been considering the advisability of putting in Hotel telephones from each room of the Hollenden, now in process of construction. Speaking tubes, which we have tried in various places in that portion now in operation, have failed to give us satisfactory service. Have you not arranged some simple and durable method of oral communication answering the purposes of a speaking tube, the transmission of sound being by wire?"
