Title
[D8854AAG], Letter from R G Burwell to Thomas Alva Edison, March 13th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"I would like to run a Telephone from my store to House a distance of two blocks and am thinking of buying one American Cushman telephone but P. Mr. Edison said if I would write you as to whether I would be liable for using them or not. Of if you have anything that would answer my purpose which would be cheaper I would take it. The Bell Telephone costs us per rental $45.00 per year cannot buy them at all that makes it come too expensive. Please reply." Your Reply, R.G. Burwell [Marginalia: "Tell him he better buy a string or mechanical teelphone than there will be no fear of [unclear]."]
