Title
[D8856ABQ], Letter from Manning Maxwell and Moore to Edison Machine Works, February 3rd, 1888
Editor's Notes
"Some weeks ago you gave us an order for a 50 Gear Cutter for the Orange Laboratory. With this machine we furnish one arbor and will make it of any desired size that you designate. The factory state that they have the machine running and that they have made a number of valuable improvements on it and would like to keep it a day or two longer to see that these new improvements are all right. They believe that you will feel fully compensated for waiting, on account of the new improvements. During this wait they will prepare the arbor if you will give us the size." Yours respectfully, Manning, Maxwell & Moore. [Marginalia: "Mr. Davids Have you any particular desire about this arbor." CB] [Marginalia: "Mr. Batchelor Think the makers know [unclear] about average size. Wont we want to order more blanks now? Davids"]
