Title

[D8856ACB], Letter from Richardson and Metzger, Charles H Richardson to Thomas Alva Edison, February 15th, 1888

Editor's Notes

[Phla optical & scientific instrument dealer] "We send you to day per Adams, a few prices just to let you know we are 'alive and kicking.' ### The apparatus for spectoscopic work improved as you suggested, has cost us much more than we get for it, but we have endeavored to make it right-no matter at what cost. ### I do not mention this to complain of the price, but only to explain the delay. Making only one of each kind at a time, patterns and special tools have multiplied very fast and required both time and money to get them. ### We are pretty well fitted for work now, and the rest of the order is coming along at a much more rapid rate. The Barometer is nearly done and the Lantern and Microscope well under way. These together with the Spectroscope, Polariscope and Porte Lumiere will be sent on in a few weeks. ### I have been under some expense, some of which I did not count on, if you can send me the amount of the bill, provided the apparatus is O.K. it will greatly favor yours truly," Chas. H. Richardson
