Summary: The NYC commissioner of taxes was being difficult, determined to require Edison to appear in person to make an affidavit that he was not a resident. But Eaton persuaded him to accept an affidavit from Edison at Orange. He asks Edison to sign and swear to the enclosed affidavit before a notary public of ny state or a ny state commissioner in nj, before the 30th. [Name mentions: Thos Edison S.B Eaton ]
