Title
[D8905AEQ], Letter from Robert Anderson Miller to Thomas Alva Edison, July 20th, 1889
Editor's Notes
Dear Bro I enclose herewith a rough sketch of an electric railway track made by Mr. C.M Miller (no relation) and given to you for what it is worth--probably nothing. But I also havve recently been approached on joining in a patent portable electrical drill consisting of a magnet attached to an electrical motor to which motor the drill is attached. The idea is to hold the motor and drill against the boiler or material to be drilled by a magnet and run into drill by the motor direct. The man that brought it around came from Chicago and is a blacksmith. I told him there porbably were several patents of a similar nature and his would not count for much, but I had not any idea as to the value or practicability of the device and so would write to you concerning it. What do you think of either of the above ideas? PS A seven pound boy is not bad for the first one is it? [name mentions: Robert Anderson Miller Thos Edison C.M Miller ]
