[D8905AGT], Letter from Mr Kaindlin to Thomas Alva Edison, October 7th, 1889

Editor's Notes

Paris 7th October 1889 My dear Mr. Edison, On your journey here and in [Chernaway?] & London and with all the exceptions you had every where, I hope you have not yet forgotten the Steamer "La [Bauegague?]" and the nice time I had with you--now, you are again in your country and I hope that you and Mrs. Edison have enjoyed very much [decrying?] the time passed in Europe and also [deving?] your voyage on board of "La Champagne."##As soon as I have reached Paris (11th August) I have been obliged to leave for Portugal, Austria and Germany. To that I have been unable to see you here and to be at the receptions you have received, but I know them by the news papers and was very happy to see that my country has not forgotten his [attentions? Affections?] for you and that the government gave you the "Legion of honor" for which I congratulate you very much.##I was in Berlin the day after you leave that city and was to [-----?] as I have been as quickly as possible in my business in Vienna for that to have the pleasure to meet you there and I came back to Paris just the Dunsay after your sailing.##How I must wish for my first trip to America for [having?] their pleasure. But before I hope to heard from you and if you wish communicate with me, I should like to study with you something about the application of electricity for making pulp from wood for paper and also for looking for some envelope to be adapted to the [present digesters?], which envelope will resist at the sulfrous acid and will be used instead the lead--##With what you know in your way and with what I know in this fabrication who is my specitaty the may find something very good and very profitable for both. But before coming in this question I want to know if you like to study it with me--##Please find enclosed a bad picture as remembrance of a "Compagne de voyage" who will be very happy to meet you again.##Be kind enough to [------] Mrs. Edison my kind regards also to Mr. [Lewis?] which I will be very glad to see.##If some pictures from you, is not to muh ask for me--I shall have a great pleasure to have it. Believe me Yours sincerely Kaindlin 37 avenue & Outin Paris
