- Editor's Notes
- may I hope that you will find time to hear a word from your native place? It is about the New Presbyterian church, to the erection of which you have already liberally contributed. The bricck work is nearly completed and soon we hope to be under cover. As it is so near the house of your nativity & a place of worship to which members of your own family still gather I must reasonably guess that your desire to have it beautiful and enduring must be much as our own us. The children of the Bible school hour been busy all summer making money to buy a bell. We are to have a report upon this work on next Sabbath evening. And it is proposed to then start a combined effort to raise funds with which to purchase suitable pipe organ for the new church. After correspondence with makers of these instruments it is found that we can procure such an organ for $1500.00. We hope to be able to secure enough of the required funds to place the order and have it ready by time of dedication. We are not to have any memorial window in the churh this time, as the order for glass has been placed by the building committee. If you should find it in your heart to START this fund with an amount pleasurable to yourself it would ELECTRIFY this worthy enterprise. May I not hope to hear from you before that meeting Sunday next? ## PS Would it please you to call it the Edison gift?
