- [D8905AIL], Letter from United Edison Manufacturing Co, William Preston Hix to Thomas Alva Edison, November 23rd, 1889
- Editor's Notes
- Dear Sir: ## I formed a syndicate today to do business in electric lighting and electric railways in central America. Mr Smith M Weed is President of the syndicate. He is interested, as you know, in the Chatagay Iron Works; and, in talking over the iron business with him, he expressed a desire to meet you and said that he could gie you some information about the iron ore business that would be valuable. I told him I would write to you and arrange a meeting for him when he returned to the city, which will be some time next week. Please let me know if you are willing to meet Mr. Weed.
