Title
[D8905AIN], Letter from Friedrich Alfred Krupp to Thomas Alva Edison, November 23rd, 1889
Editor's Notes
Honoured Sir, ## Owing the receipt of your amiable letter of 7th inst and returning my kindest thanks for the same, I cannot fail to state what extreme pleasure you have caused to me by your offer, which I accept with sincere gratitude [ustractedly?] from my attaching the highest value to possess one of the latest specimens of your renowned instrument, I consider it as a still greater advantage that the present is coming from one of our most prominent contemporaries. Een if it should be obsolete in comparatively short a time--we are so very quick living now-a-days--, it never will lose its value as a token of remembrance to you. ## How extremely sorry I was that I could not receive you as my guest, I am unable to express, I think however that Europe did not leave a so very unfavorable impression upon you, that you never will return to it. ## On the contrary, I dare hope that you will soon come again to Germany and that at this occasion I may with certitude count upon the honour of your visit.
