- Editor's Notes
- City Liberal Club, Walbrook E.C 188####My dear Mr Edison####In regard to the second invitation sent you by the Lord Mayor, asking you t o name an evening convenient to yourself to dine with him, and which you have not replied to. I called today with Col. Gouraud and we informed his Lordship that you had not received the telegram which kindly remember should the subject come up at any time during the next few days.#### Hearing that you might possibly be in town tomorrow the Lord Mayor and the Lady Mayoress hae invited yourself and Mrs. Edison Miss Miller--also Sir John Pender, Col & Mrs. Gouraud myself to bunch QUIETLY at two o'clock. There will be no one else there--and considering the effort he is making to meet you and in some way pay you what attention he can during your short stay here, I think you ought to receipt this invitation which will consume less than an hour of your time.####I presume [Dei?] has explained about my not having received his telegram from [Metz?] and therefore being unable to meet you at Dower as I had intended. ####I hope you're getting better and will be able to come to town tomorrow.####A.O Tate, [illegible]####name mentions:Sir John Pender, Col & Mrs. Gouraud, Metz, Thos Edison and mina Edison, Lord Mayor, Lady Mayoress]
