- I send you by the same with this, the February number of the Forum, containing a humorous skit by Verne on life in the year 2889. It has occurred to me that a serious article, undertaking to show what invention may humbly produce 1000 years hence, would be of much interest to thinking people: Are you willing to write this? I propose a length of from 3000 to 4000 words, and a compensation of twenty dollars per thousand words.
