Editor's Notes
it is my intention to publish on your discovereis a serious and complete study for French readers.##As in France you are both little and inaccurately known to the public at large, the sucdess of a work of this kind is certain, for every one will be eager to read the history and achievements of the most extraordinary inventor of our times.##To attain this end, it is however essential that every thing contained in the book shouldbe historically and scientifically correct, and the best course I can adopt is to apply to you for the necessary information. I should therefore me extremely grateful if you would favor me with a biographical sketch together with historical and descriptive accounts of all your inventions. In the event of my request meeting with your approval, I would beg you to forward the documents tot eh above address and to receive the best thanks of a fervid admirer Yours truly H. Vila Professor of Physics Sub editor of "La Nature" [ans May 10/89]
