- [letterhead of Press Club, NY] In an illustrated article I have made a passing reference to your system of signalling under water. I refer to a possible telephone arrangement in a closed box whereby a vessel could signal to all other vessels within a radius of many miles, like the vibrations that might radiate from the center of an earthquake pulsation. I have given you credit by name for having thought out some such system of signalling. ## Any details of your experiments that you might be willing to make public, I should consider in the light of a great favor."
