- Dear Uncle I hope you will still let me claim you as such for I have never called you anything else. I have been an Invalid for nearly four years from spine trouble and have been in the hospital 5 months but have improved so much in that time now my doctors thinks if I would go out West it would do me so much good I might get entirely well. I have friends in Kansas and he wants me to go there but it would cost me about $250 which I have not. I suppose you wonder who I am. I am the Daughter of the one they call Aunt Sallie. # I have been a great expense to Mamma all these years, and she cannot afford to send me West now, so I thought you had a daughter of your own and would know how you would feel if she was in my place so I perhaps you would grant me this favor by letting me have the amount I speak of. I will try and pay it all back although I may be a long time in doing so, and if I cannot God will give you your reward. I do want so much to get well and the doctor seems to think this would be a great help in fact he said if I could go to Kansas for a year I might get strong as ever I was, now will you please think this over and if possible let me have the $250. I think that will carry me through. Please let me know as soon as possible, as I may leave here soon. If you do let me have it you could send me a check for the amount named to the address below.
