- Title
- [D8915ABD], Letter from Women's Christian Assn (Newark), Naomi T Compton to Mina Miller (Mrs Thomas A.) Edison, November 6th, 1889
- Editor's Notes
- The ladies of the Women's Christian Association of Newark desire to bring the subject of their work to the notice of TAE, [---] that he may [---] be disposed to grant them a portion of his magnificence, which will be devoted to the interests of 'Those who are trying to help themselves.' # Realizing the fact of numerous demands upon the time, patience and purse of one so successfully absorbed in scientific pursuits, the Board of Managers hardly dare hope for personal interest; but would esteem it an honor to their Association if Mrs. Edison had the inclination to give her valuable co-operation. Hoping that the accompanying Annual Report, with the circular containing plans for future enlargement of the good work already begin in a city full of working girls, may receive a slight degree of attention from both TAE and Mrs. Edison.
