- Editor's Notes
- We enclose you herewith a further communication from Mr. Sargent, the Supt. Of the Chicago Edison Company, with relations to the matter of explosions in connection with the junction Boxes in the underground system there. The experiment suggested by of placing bottles of chloroform in junction boxes, has been and is now being tried in the New York uptown districts, but sufficient time has not elapsed for us to make any kind of report as to the result. Will you please read over this letter of Mr. Sargent’s, and let us have your views, and any remedy that might suggest itself to you in connection with the troubles experienced there.
