I send you herewith a sample Incandescent Lamp of the Backstron Co.####I control the Company, & it is for sale.####Do you care to look into it--with a view to purchase?####It is claimed to be a better lamp than any now made, cheaper & lasts longer. A reply will oblige. SEPARATE (UNINDEXED) NOTE FROM JOHNSON TO EDISON ON OTHER SIDE OF PAPER: "Under the new orders of things the Board Constitutes you the umpire in all such matters as this--you are to say whether it is desirable to buy--and the light Co will then so order####The Loomis [illeg] will be bought on your recommendation."
