New York, N.Y May 14th 1889####The Edison Lamp Co.,####East Newark, N.J.####Dear Sirs:####I shall be glad if you will supply as with the information enumerated below atyour very earliest convenience. This information I require so as to enable as to place Mr. Herrick in full possession of the financial standing of our Manufacturing establishments and the United Company:####I. A comparative Trial Balance showing the balances of No. 1st, 1885, and also each succeeding closing up to and including May 1st, 1889. (This comparative Trial Balance should not be given in detail, but should be condensed;, your Accounts Payable being grouped under one heading, and your Accoutns Receivable under another heading, and such other condensation as would occur to you as desirable.)####II. A detailed statement of your Account Receivable. (If you consider any accounts in this statement to be of less value than their face please mention the fact.)####III. A detailed statement of you Accounts Payable.####IV. A detailed statement of your Notes Payable giving the date of each note, in whose favor it is drawn, the indorsement, if any, on it, the date it matures and where it is payable.####V. A detailed statement of your Notes Receivable, stating whether they have been discounted, by whom discounted, the date they were drawn, the date of maturity and where payable.####VI. A detailed statement of your Sales, giving each month sseparately; a statement to show simply money values and to-tals for the period extending from the 1st of November to the 1st of May.####II. A statement of estimated Profits for the same period, giing each month by itself.####It is important that I should have these statements by the close of the week. I have made a similar request of the Edison Machine Works, Messrs.
