Title
[D8945AAE], Letter from Sigmund Bergmann to Thomas Alva Edison, March 1st, 1889
Editor's Notes
As you have doubtless learned from the papers, the German Hospital Fair has been a grand success. The show you enbaled me to make has been the best and most interesting feature of the whole affair. Only your personal presence was lacking- for I told many people that you were coming. I look in an average of $85.00 for 8 evenings which was a net gain of that amount to the friend. You will receive official acknowledgment and thanks from headquarters for your contribution to the success of the affair shortly and meanwhile I beg to express to you my sincere hearty thanks for your favors to me in enabling me to get the show. Please bill me with any expenses direct or indirect which you may have incur red I nthe matter and I will remit the amount by you by reclaim mail.##I was very sorry to read of the accident which you met much the other day but trust the reports in the mornings paper that you have fully recovered from its effects and are none the for it are correct.
