Title
[D8949ABI], Letter from John Birkinbine to Thomas Alva Edison, July 6th, 1889
Editor's Notes
I regret that I did not see you when at the Laboratory on Saturday I would have waited had I been certain that I could have seen you. My expectation is to go West about the 15th of the month and as you stated that you proposed after you had the Bechtelsville plant in operation making a commercial test of say 50 tons or so of Port Henry ore, I would like if you still desire to have it done to arrange to have the ore sent there prior to my departure. I think an arrangement could be made whereby the resultant concentrate could be disposed of so as to compensate you for running it through the works., and have the ore return something to Messers Witherbees, Sherman & Co. ## Messers Sherman & Co. have sent me the proof for final revision of the paper on "Iron Ore Concentration" upon which your name and mine appear as joint authors and stated that if I desired exta copies I must enter the order at once. I have order 100 for distribution amoung my friends and will gladly supply you with part of mine but if you wish any number please let me know at once and I will put in the order. We only to pay for the cost of printing and the paper.
